Android - Hotmail in 3 easy steps

Download the app

  1. Search for Hotmail in the Android Market
  2. Download the Hotmail app
Download the app now!

Enter your details

  1. Tap to open the app, tap Windows Live ID box and type your Windows Live ID
  2. Enter your password, tap Next to continue

Personalise your account

  1. Enter your name and how many days of email you want to store on your phone.
  2. Tap Next and you can choose to sync your contacts and calendar. Tap Next to finish.

Add an account

  1. Tap Settings, then tap Mail, Contacts, Calendar
  2. Tap Add Account in the Accounts page.
  3. Tap Hotmail

Enter your details

  1. Enter your full Hotmail email address and password. In the Description field, enter a name so you can identify this account when you check your email (for example, 'Hotmail').

Personalise your account

  1. Select the fields that you want to sync (they should say ON if you want them to sync). Tap Save.

Add an account

  1. On start, flick left to the App list, tap Settings, and then tap Email & accounts.
  2. Tap Add an account, and then tap Windows Live.

Windows Live

  1. If you didn't sign in with a Windows Live ID during setup, the Before you sign in screen appears. On this screen, tap Next.
  2. Tap the Windows Live ID box, and then type your Windows Live ID.

Sign in

  1. Tap the Password box, and then type your Windows Live password.
  2. Tap Sign in.

Add an account

  1. Tap Email setup or Email settings from your phone's home screen. Or, select Setup wizard, which will open email setup screen.
  2. Select Create or add an email address. You'll be prompted to accept the Microsoft Software License Terms.

Set up email

  1. On the Email setup screen, select Hotmail. (On some BlackBerry phones, you'll go directly to the Hotmail address and password fields.)
  2. Enter your full Hotmail address and password, and then tap Next.

Exit setup

  1. If the steps are successful, you'll get an account setup confirmation message.
  2. Click Close or OK to exit email setup.
